Each week, during our Friday Achievement assembly, we celebrate our ‘Pupils of the Week’ from each year group. Pupils are recognised for this weekly award for a variety of reasons and are nominated by their class teacher. They may have excelled in a particular subject through the week; may have shown one, or more, of the school values in abundance, or they may have impressed their teacher, or other staff members with a huge amount of effort. Whatever they are nominated for, they are recognised in the whole school achievement assembly, receive a certificate to take home and get to wear one of our prestigious black and gold t-shirts.
During the assembly, we also celebrate children who have 100% attendance for the week and have been in school every day on time. A lucky dip, of all children who are eligible takes place, and one pupil walks away with £5 to spend on whatever they want, Standards and presentation of a child’s book, chosen at random, are also reviewed and celebrated with the school and the child, whose book has been chosen, has the chance to win a dip out of the basket of goodies, as long as they have used their best handwriting every day, completed their feed forward marking and taken care in the presentation of their date and learning objective. We are extremely proud of all of the efforts of our pupils and the Friday Achievement assembly recognises this pride.

Last week, Reception went on an exciting trip to Hatton Country Farm! The children had a fantastic day full of exciting activities. The children loved going on a tractor ride around the farm and really enjoyed spotting all the different farm animals. We took part in feeding the animals and learnt lots of new facts about how to take care of them. Reception had a great time holding the guinea pigs and exploring all the wide range of reptiles that could also be spotted at Hatton Country Farm.

Over the past three weeks, our netball team has been competing in the local netball league, with the final taking place on 17th June. In a thrilling semi-final match against St Anne’s, the team delivered an outstanding performance and secured a well-deserved win, earning their place in the final.
In the final match, our players gave it their all and showed incredible determination and teamwork. Although Bishop Wilson claimed the gold, our team proudly took home the silver medal, finishing in second place. We are incredibly proud of their hard work, sportsmanship, and fantastic achievement—well done, team!
Children and staff had a wonderful time at The Edgbaston Priory Club, immersing themselves in all things tennis. The day began with exciting group tennis lessons, where the children had the opportunity to develop their skills and learn from experienced coaches. In the morning, they also had the chance to meet some professional tennis players, which was a real highlight!
After lunch, everyone enjoyed watching live tennis matches, which was a thrilling experience for all. The atmosphere was electric, and the children were thoroughly engaged, cheering on the players and soaking up the action. It was a memorable day full of fun, learning, and inspiration!

What an adventure it has been for Year 5! Our intrepid explorers started their Wales journey with a trip to Black Rock Sands for lunch! Rafting, Rides, Sun and Sand were all on offer as Year 5 bounced, climbed, ran and walked their way around North Wales!
Great fun and exciting activities made this a trip to remember, with year 5 showing everyone why we are More than a School!
